Everything you need to know

  • What subjects do you cover in SAT Math tutoring?
I cover all topics tested on the SAT Math section, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, data analysis, and problem-solving skills. Whatever topics you need to understand or master, I will tailor each session to address your specific needs.
  • How are the tutoring sessions conducted?
All tutoring sessions are conducted online through the video conferencing platform Google Meet. I use an interactive whiteboard and screen-sharing tools to ensure a smooth, engaging learning experience.
  • How long is each session?
Each session is typically 1 hour, but longer sessions can be arranged if needed. I recommend a standard hour to maximize focus and productivity.
  • How do you personalize the lessons?
I start with an initial assessment to identify your strengths and areas for improvement. Based on that, I create a customized lesson plan focusing on key SAT Math topics, test-taking strategies, and time management techniques. Details on the initial assessment will given prior to the first lesson.
  • Do you assign homework?
Yes, I provide practice problems after each session to reinforce what was covered. Homework is essential for progress, and I review it in the next session to address any difficulties or mistakes.
  • How soon can I see improvement in my score?
Improvement varies based on the student's starting point and commitment. Many students see noticeable improvements in their math confidence and scores after a few sessions, especially with consistent practice and focus.
  • What materials do I need for the sessions?
You’ll need a reliable internet connection, a device with video conferencing capabilities, a calculator (the one you plan to use on test day), and a notebook for taking notes. I will provide all practice materials and resources.
  • How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions depends on your current level and target score. Some students meet their goals in as little as 8-10 sessions, but the majority of others benefit from at least 12 tutoring sessions leading up to the test.
  • Do you offer group sessions or only one-on-one tutoring?
Currently, I focus on one-on-one tutoring to provide the most personalized experience. This ensures that each student receives individual attention tailored to their learning needs.
  • How do I schedule a session?
You can schedule a session by contacting me directly via the scheduling form on my website. I offer flexible timing, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate your schedule.
  • Do you tutor for the PSAT, HSPT, or SSAT?
Yes I do, please contact me directly via email to discuss further.
  • Would you tutor just math for my middle school or high school student?
While I focus on the SAT, if time permits, I am available to help your child in the following subjects: Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Algebra II, Geometry, Probability and Statistics, and Pre-Calculus.
  • Do you guarantee an improvement in my score?
I don't like to use the word "guarantee", but what I can say is that if you are focused during our lessons, complete the required work between our sessions, you will certainly put yourself in the best position to increase your score. I've had students go up by 50 points, 100 points, and some over 150 points through my sessions.
  • What is your cancellation policy?
I require 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Missed sessions without notice will incur a cancellation fee. I am more than understanding that life happens, and I will make every effort to accommodate you another day and time.
