Tutoring

Private Tutoring

Why 1-on-1?

Working privately with students provides an enriching experience customized to maximize the student’s understanding and performance. There are many other compelling reasons to work privately, such as:

  • Customized Learning Experience: Private tutoring allows for a personalized approach, targeting the student's specific weaknesses and tailoring lessons to their unique learning style, leading to faster and more effective progress.

  • Focused Attention and Flexibility: With 1-on-1 tutoring, the student receives undivided attention, ensuring that questions are answered immediately and difficult concepts are thoroughly explained, all at a pace that suits the student’s needs.

  • Test-Taking Strategies: Tutors can teach strategies specific to the SAT Math section, such as time management, recognizing common question patterns, and knowing when to use DESMOS to your advantage.

  • Boost Confidence: Individual support helps build the student’s confidence by reinforcing key concepts and improving problem-solving skills.

  • Constant Feedback: I maintain an open communication with parents, keeping them informed and involved throughout this process.

Group Sessions

When is group learning the right fit?

Certain students can thrive in a group setting. Most of the time, these students are just starting their preparation and want to learn an overview of the topics and skills. Some students are social learners and enjoy getting together with friends, having conversations, and giving advice to each other. In addition, group sessions can offer the following benefits:

  • Collaborative Learning: In a small group, students can share strategies, ask questions, and learn from each other’s mistakes, which can enhance understanding of difficult concepts.

  • Cost-Effective: Small group tutoring is often more affordable than private 1-on-1 sessions, while still offering personalized attention from the tutor.

  • Balanced Interaction: The group is small enough for the tutor to provide individualized feedback, yet large enough to foster healthy competition and motivation among peers.

  • Diverse Problem-Solving Approaches: Exposure to different perspectives and problem-solving methods within the group can help students think more critically and flexibly during the test.
